A heat pump is a highly efficient heating and cooling system that moves heat rather than generates it. In winter, it extracts heat from the outside air (even in very cold temperatures) and transfers it inside. In summer it reverses, acting as an air conditioner. Because it moves heat instead of creating it, it uses far less energy than traditional electric heaters — making it both cheaper to run and better for the environment.

Yes — modern cold-climate heat pumps like the Mitsubishi Hyper Heat and Daikin cold-climate series are designed to work efficiently down to -30°C. These are the systems we most commonly install and they perform excellently in all BC climates, including northern and interior regions where winters are severe.

It depends on your location, current heating system, and household income. Most BC homeowners qualify for between $2,000 and $8,000. Income-qualified households can receive up to $16,000. First Nations communities in northern BC can access up to $24,000 in combined incentives. We identify everything you qualify for during our free assessment — most clients are surprised by how much they're entitled to.

Stacking means combining rebates from multiple programs at the same time — federal, provincial, and municipal. Each level of government offers separate rebates that can be applied simultaneously on the same project. Most contractors only know about one or two programs. We know all of them and apply for everything at once, maximizing your total rebate value.

A typical residential heat pump installation takes 1–2 days. More complex systems with multiple zones or ducting modifications may take 2–3 days. We always leave your home clean and fully tested before we leave, and we walk you through how to operate the new system.
